Walking
|
You can wander through the surrounding meadows and
woodland, take a walk to Enversin for lunch, hop on the cable car to visit the lakes or scramble up mountain
paths for views of distant valleys. A waterfall or stream is never far and wild flowers are all around.
Mountaineering

There are some excellent local peaks including the Rissiou (2,622m), the Etendard (3,464m) and Belledonne (2,926m). Slightly further afield (1 hour) the Parc des Ecrins offers some famous mountains such as the Meije (3,982m) and the Ecrin (4,102m) and the climbing centres
of La Grave and La Berarde are well worth a visit. There is a cosy mountain hut locally at 2,300m
and a whole series of strategically placed huts in the Parc des Ecrins. You are advised to take a mountain guide with you.
Tennis

Cycling & Mountain Biking

Cycling aficionados will be drawn by the proximity of the famous climb to Alpe d'Huez and nearby cols such as
Galibier, Lautaret and Croix de Fer. There are some exciting mountain-bike routes including the descent from Pic Blanc (3,300m) to Allemont (750m) using the cable-car for the ascent!
Rafting

About thirty minutes away between Venosc and St Christophe (both worth a visit) is the rafting and canoeing centre

Parapenting
