'The temperatures in France have fallen again, the skies are bright blue, giving perfect ski weather', read the snow report on a leading forecast website last week. The Ski Club of Great Britain describes the snow at Alpe d'Huez as 'good', with 76 of the 84 lifts open. The reports from Vaujany are great. Once again it would appear we have been very fortunate compared to other resorts. Our Ski Guides have finally ordered champagne magnums as La Fare (the black run down below the village) is due to open any day. This will make our famous Champagne Run- with 2200 metres of vertical descent, the greatest in the world- possible again soon. And you can now ski down below La Villette - so the snow is there! The locals are talking of a great February and yet another year of great late season skiing.

Our first six weeks this year have been in the name of stars! Our staff and accommodation have excelled themselves this season and achieved some fantastic results. Just two of note...

Guy, Annika and Sofie who run our self-catering apartments recently had a special, unexpected visitor. Le Prefet de L'Isere- the Regional Tourist Authority examined our ten flats earlier this month and as a result of what they saw, awarded each one the ONLY FIVE STAR rating in Vaujany! With superb facilities and comfort and views to die for, they were also the FIRST in Vaujany to receive this honour. The apartments are spacious and all have stone fireplaces and DVD players. There is a sauna, a games room and free WiFi access in the building and included are all the usual Ski Peak refinements. In March there is even still a chance to snap up the one catered apartment- luxurious Gentiane. Should you fancy the best of both worlds then Blair's food is not to be missed.

Had you been eating in La Villette in our beautiful Chalet Rostaing last night your menu (served in a charming former milking parlour) would have been as follows;

And that is not even the fancy farewell dinner! Our Chef Jean-Michel and Hostess Aline (of Hotel Rissiou fame) have been achieving great results this year. Client feedback has been record-breaking for the couple and their food. Rumour even has it that Jean-Michel's re-vamped for a new season cuisine is challenging that of Marcus in Saskia! Rostaing is a great option for larger parties and available for fantastic late season skiing.

We are constantly striving to change and adapt according to your comments. A major change this year is the long awaited arrival of BROADBAND and with it WiFi to Vaujany! The Hotel Rissiou, La Perle D'Oisans and Saskia now all offer this facility free of charge.

Worth noting this season is also our all-singing, all-rocking Garderie assistant. Canadian Laura is proving a real find. Superb nanny in the nursery by day, where her and her guitar are loved by the kids - your kids might even pick up a French song or two, to jamming queen by night in the Swallow bar, where her and her guitar are loved by the adults!
