Another chance meeting.

Jim Adams who was our La Villette rep during both the past winter and summer seasons took a job in Edinburgh over the autumn. Out of the blue he was surprised to bump into Damon, our handyman last season in Vaujany. They duly caught up on news. Then a few days later Jim got chatting to someone at a party, chap called Tim Cannell, who had been travelling all around Europe over the summer and turned out he was soon heading out to do a ski season....in Vaujany.....as handyman for ski Peak! It's a small world indeed.

Snow!

We have had a good snow fall in Vaujany this Monday and Tuesday and Alpe d'Huez opens on Saturday, currently reporting 60cms on the upper slopes and 25cms the lower slopes.

Of course both Vaujany and Alpe d'Huez have been producing 'cultured snow' (just like the pearls), with their 700 snow cannons, for a number of weeks now, creating that early base on the pistes which provides longevity at the end of the season.

Alpe d'Huez is also very excited to be introducing the 3rd stage of the Marmottes gondola giving a second route up to the Sarenne glacier and Pic Blanc. This is a significant development that will enable people returning from the Gorge de Sarenne and Auris sector to travel back up to the top quickly and comfortably and ski the Champagne run for example in the afternoon, having done the Sarenne in the morning!

Availability

We are fully booked for Xmas and New Year. We do however have a few seats left on our Gatwick/Grenoble BA charter for the 21st-28th December.

January is also proving very strong but if you are still looking for a holiday at this time we have catered chalet accommodation available the 4th January and 29th January. If you are interested in a short break our 11th-15th offer is £179pp for the Oisans apartments and £299 for the Chalets and Rissiou, including flights and transfers!

Don't miss out - book now!

Staff

The staff are heading out now to prepare for our guests and we have another first class team this season with Marcus and Rosa again managing the Chalet operation, Thomas in the Rissiou and the Oury's at the helm of the Oisans apartments.

You already had a glimpse of what the Oury's have been up to for the past 18 months... here is a recent snap of Marcus whilst attending a pastry course in Barcelona!

Our guests

We would like to take this opportunity of wishing you all a Very Happy Xmas and prosperous New Year together with fresh powder snow and sunny blue skies on your skiing holiday.

Many thanks for your support.
